Overview

  • The Quality Assurance Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the project Quality Management Plan to ensure all design, engineering, procurement, and construction activities are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and client expectations.
  • The role provides strategic leadership for all quality-related matters throughout the project lifecycle and works closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and the client to drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer is preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in quality assurance within large-scale engineering, construction, or multidisciplinary consultancy projects
  • Minimum 7 years in a senior project quality leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex, high-value projects in the UAE

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management Plan in line with contractual requirements and company standards
  • Lead all quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Establish project quality objectives, KPIs, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality control procedures
  • Oversee project audits, inspections, quality reviews, and surveillance activities to verify compliance
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Project Directors, discipline leads, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality issues and mitigate project risks
  • Review and approve project quality documentation, method statements, inspection reports, and quality records
  • Monitor project quality performance and provide regular reports to senior management and the client
  • Lead and mentor the project quality team, ensuring consistent implementation of quality standards across all disciplines
  • Represent the project during client quality meetings, external audits, and regulatory inspections

Key Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of project quality management principles and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent understanding of engineering, design, procurement, and construction quality processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence quality culture across the project
