About the role

Key responsibilities

• Own the BI and analytics roadmap and personally take critical projects from business question through modeling, analysis, and adoption.
• Build the event taxonomy, entity models, and business metric definitions on Snowflake using dbt or an equivalent transformation layer.
• Write SQL, investigate performance changes, test hypotheses, and deliver recommendations across UX, credit, collections, investment, and operations.
• Develop executive and departmental dashboards, measure adoption, and improve or retire reporting based on value.
• Define KPIs, resolve conflicting definitions, and maintain a business glossary for reporting and self-service analysis.
• Curate semantic models for AI agents, maintain a golden-question evaluation set, review agent-generated SQL, and investigate accuracy failures.
• Build customer journey, sessionization, funnel, and cohort models connecting product behavior to lending and operational outcomes.
• Implement PII masking, row-access policies, department-scoped access, and auditability across analytics datasets.
• Identify instrumentation and data quality issues, define business requirements, and work with architecture on data contracts and fixes.
• Establish testing, documentation, version control, and review practices, and mentor analysts or analytics engineers while contributing directly.

Required qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, analytics engineering, or related data roles.
• Experience owning cross-functional analytics priorities and company- or domain-level metric definitions.
• Recent hands-on experience writing SQL, building data models, delivering dashboards, and conducting analysis.
• Expert SQL, including semi-structured JSON data at event and log scale, and strong Snowflake experience.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or an equivalent transformation or semantic layer, plus strong modeling, testing, and documentation practices.
• Strong BI development skills in Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Practical product and event analytics experience, including sessionization, funnels, cohorts, and customer journey measurement.
• Ability to move between executive discussions and detailed implementation while translating ambiguous questions into reliable analytics outputs.
• Strong business acumen and stakeholder fluency, including comfort with credit, collections, lending, or investment discussions.
• Working familiarity with LLM and agent-based analytics, including text-to-SQL, AI semantic models, and output evaluation.
• Experience setting technical standards and mentoring others while maintaining direct delivery ownership.
• Practical understanding of data governance, access controls, and auditability in analytics environments.

Nice to have

• Fintech or lending experience, ideally in KSA, the GCC, or another regulated market.
• Experience building an analytics capability from an early foundation.
• Python for analysis and light automation.
• Experience implementing masking, row-level access, and data quality monitoring.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or event instrumentation concepts.
• Arabic proficiency.

Success in the first 12 months
