At 2 Hour Learning, we've developed a model that enables students to learn twice as fast in only two hours each day.

Now we need a leader who can align execution across varied school models, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public voice of a movement rooted in rigorous learning science.
This is not a role for academic theory.
It's a leadership responsibility.
You'll own the practical academic strategy, establish clear standards, surface execution gaps, and coach high-performing teams to deliver tangible results.
You'll translate our scientific principles into operational rigor and advocate for this model on a global stage.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum design, motivational systems, and application development.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-driven.
- Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into academic ecosystem evaluations that identify the highest-impact obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
- Ensuring strategic alignment through planning processes, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the external face of 2 Hour Learning at the highest levels, from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic change in global education thinking.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Working on isolated curriculum initiatives that fail to create systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or practical execution.
- Passing performance accountability to middle managers or external consultants.
- Depending on brand reputation or theory to convince skeptical stakeholders.
Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities
Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across schools, raising leadership standards, and serving as the public advocate for a movement built on rigorous science and proven results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position.
The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year.
The payment period is weekly.
