Full-time, on-site management role in Doha leading day-to-day catering sales and group customer relationships.
Supports larger, more complex accounts and manages sales goals to achieve property objectives.
Education and experience
- Requires either a 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major plus 8 years of related experience, or a 4-year bachelor’s degree in those fields plus 6 years of related experience.
Sales strategy and revenue
- Work with sales leadership and the catering team to implement sales strategy and create segment plans addressing revenue, customers, and market.
- Assist with internal and external promotions; lead revenue efforts and recommend booking goals.
- Monitor direct reports, manage catering space release to maximize revenue when designated manager is absent, and participate in calls to win or close business.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence for booked business.
- Analyze market information and sales systems to pursue room and catering goals; support six-period projections and review guest satisfaction results.
Relationships, events, and team
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders; attend customer events, trade shows, and sales missions.
- Meet guests before and after events to obtain feedback on facilities, food and beverage, service, contract execution, and overall satisfaction.
- Interview and hire employees, use on-the-job training tools, empower staff to provide excellent service, observe service behaviors, and give feedback.
- Support brand customer-service and property standards and incorporate guest satisfaction into department meetings.
