Role overview

Responsibilities

• Build Unity Editor features and workflows for Android device configurations.
• Analyze the stack and develop optimizations with partner teams.
• Benchmark and analyze Unity runtime performance, then implement verified improvements.
• Document technical work, participate in design reviews, and resolve bug reports.
• Use automated testing and code reviews to improve quality and delivery.

What the role requires

• Advanced C++, C#, and Java or Kotlin skills and a strong background in Android systems programming.
• Experience building and maintaining platform or runtime systems and scalable features in a large multithreaded codebase.
• Understand cross-language calls and memory ownership and marshalling.
• Bring diagnostic, debugging, and performance-profiling skills.
• Professional verbal and written English is needed for frequent global communication.

Additional qualifications

• C# and managed-runtime expertise, real-time 3D rendering, and modern graphics APIs including Vulkan are advantageous.
• A methodical optimization-research approach, interest in real-time 3D or games, and familiarity with AI in software development are advantageous.

Work location

• The role may be based in Montreal, Canada, or performed remotely within the US East Coast time zone.

Base salary

• Base salary ranges depend on primary work location: CAD Zone A $103,000–$153,000 and Zone B $111,100–$161,100; USD Zone A $115,400–$173,000, Zone B $130,400–$195,600, and Zone C $146,500–$219,700.
• The role may also be eligible for equity and company incentive plans; final compensation depends on location and candidate qualifications.
