Responsibilities
- Design and implement control and operator-interface software for industrial machinery.
- Build systems and tools for efficient software production and develop industrial communication software.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and next-generation software design.
- Communicate complex technical material clearly in speech and writing.
Technical qualifications
- At least five years of software engineering experience; three to five years with Microsoft tools and languages including Visual Studio, C#, and .NET. C and C++ are an asset.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent, is preferred; fields include Electrical and Electronics, Controls, and Software Engineering.
- Understanding of UX principles, control software, and modern PLC platforms.
- Exposure to industrial protocols including TCP/IP, OPC UA, ModBus, CanBus, and IoT; PLC programming exposure including IEC 61131-3, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens, or Allen-Bradley.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and databases; some web technology and frontend/backend development experience.
- Experience or understanding of asynchronous programming, multithreading, multitasking, and real-time systems.
- Familiarity with AI use in software development, ideation, and tool creation.
