Detection Engineering Consultant (Cyber Security) for Qatar

Overview

• We are looking for Detection Engineering Consultant for Qatar location.

• 7+ years in cybersecurity with minimum 4 years in a dedicated detection engineering, SIEM engineering, or senior SOC analyst role, preferably within an MSSP environment
• A good communicator at all levels.
• A sound knowledge of IT security best practices, common attack types and detection / prevention methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and great organisational skills
• Strong practical knowledge of detection engineering principles, use case lifecycle management, detection-as-code, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, and coverage gap analysis across multi-tenant environments
• Proven experience in alert tuning and false positive reduction including suppression rule management, behavioral baseline development, and threshold optimization across diverse customer environments Experience or qualifications in security, network and systems monitoring
• University degree in any field related to Information Technology
• Minimum 6+ years’ experience focused in the IT Security field (e.g. Incident Response, Incident Investigation, Incident Remediation)
• Practical experience using SIEM platforms, including:
• Advanced search and log analysis
• Rule-based and behavioral detections
• Specialist in Alert tuning and false-positive reduction
• A sound knowledge of IT security best practice, common attack types and detection / prevention methods.
• Attention to detail and great organisational skills

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to Information Security Best Practices such ISO27001, ISO31000, ISO 22301, COBIT for Risk and NIST
• An understanding of Information Security relating to the Confidentiality, Integrity and availability of information
• Understanding of IS regulatory requirements in the state of Qatar

• Certified Ethical Hacker

• Security+/any Blue team certification

• CCSP And CCSE
