Role overview
Develop new products as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and design specialists.
Focus on conceptual design and design discipline to deliver high-quality, high-performance, reliable, cost-effective designs on time.
Key responsibilities
- Convert product definitions into design concepts with minimal guidance and execute designs using design standards.
- Complete part modeling and drafting, assemblies, bills of materials, and releases to BAAN.
- Perform system-level design; contribute to design reviews and detail verification.
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement and work within product development and product release processes.
- Mitigate design risks, including participation in or facilitation of DFMEA.
- Communicate across disciplines, create design documents and validation plans, and verify and monitor engineering documentation.
Technical knowledge and skills
- Skilled use of 3D modeling and detailing techniques; able to calculate design parameters.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes; able to perform basic mechanical assembly tasks.
- Tooling and automated machinery experience, component selection and sizing, and manufacturability-focused design are listed as assets.
- GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis experience is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience; a bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
