Role overview

Oversees landscape design activities across projects, aligning design with client requirements, project objectives, and regulatory standards.

Combines design management, technical oversight, and landscape expertise in a Project Management Consultancy environment.

Acts as the client representative for landscape design oversight, focusing on review, governance, integration, and delivery assurance rather than primary design.

Design management and coordination

  • Leads landscape design from concept through detailed design and construction support.
  • Coordinates landscape design with architectural, civil, utilities, infrastructure, and MEP disciplines.
  • Reviews consultant submissions for scope, quality, and regulatory compliance, and ensures coordinated, buildable designs.
  • Manages design reviews, clash detection, and the landscape design programme against project timelines.

Technical and sustainability oversight

  • Provides input on planting strategies, irrigation, grading, drainage, and hardscape.
  • Reviews designs for functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic quality, including selection of native, climate-appropriate, low-maintenance plant species.
  • Assesses environmental impact, soil conditions, hydrology, and long-term maintainability.
  • Verifies water efficiency and green infrastructure measures.

Project and construction support

  • Liaises with clients, authorities, and stakeholders on design approvals and compliance; participates in technical meetings to resolve issues.
  • Reports on design progress and risks, assesses design-change impacts on cost, schedule, and quality, and supports value engineering.
  • Identifies design risks and provides construction support through RFI responses, shop-drawing reviews, implementation oversight, and site-progress monitoring.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum 12–15+ years of experience, including significant exposure to design management and landscape projects.
  • Experience in PMC, consultancy, or large-scale infrastructure or urban development projects.

Knowledge and capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of landscape and urban design, irrigation, grading, drainage, sustainability, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Proficiency in design and coordination tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, and GIS.
  • Understanding of international standards, codes, and authority requirements.
  • Strong leadership, team management, coordination, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to balance design quality, cost, and constructability.

Rewards and benefits

  • Tax-free salary, life insurance, medical insurance for the employee and dependents, annual leave, and a company gratuity scheme.
  • Discretionary bonus, annual flight contribution, and relocation assistance.
  • Transportation and housing allowances may be available for remote work locations.
  • Wellbeing programme provides access to finance, legal, family care, health, fitness, and nutrition specialists.
  • Company describes flexible and hybrid work solutions and remote work opportunities outside the country.
