Role overview

Design and technical solutions

• Develop accurate troubleshooting, repair, modification, and concession solutions for defects arising from maintenance.
• Use published maintenance data and analyze defect reports to identify root causes.
• Prepare compliant repair or deviation proposals and submit them to manufacturers for timely approval when required.
• Produce substantiation data, compliance means, continued-airworthiness instructions, and laboratory tests under applicable procedures and regulations.

Modifications and coordination

• Develop modification designs and certification packages, including modification bulletins, drawings, bills of materials, and certification documents.
• Coordinate engineering changes with internal teams, customers, vendors, service providers, manufacturers, and production organizations.
• Release engineering instructions and documentation for aircraft return to service; resolve issues before or during layovers.
• Improve reliability and maintenance turnaround through use of DOA capability and OEM support.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least five years of engineering experience in an EASA/GCAA Part 145 or Part 21J organization, a TC holder, or a similarly scoped DOA/POA; equivalent FAA experience is acceptable.
• Strong experience with aircraft repairs, modifications, retrofit development, troubleshooting, and AOG support.
• Experience creating certification documents, test plans, and compliance reports.

Technical and professional skills

• Technical knowledge of industry-standard drafting CAD software, CATIA V5, or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, planning, and budget-management skills; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter with creativity, analytical ability, decisiveness, and willingness to take responsibility.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
