Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Dy. Head – Merchandising & Supply Chain
to oversee end-to-end merchandising operations, inventory planning, procurement coordination, vendor management, and supply chain activities for our diamond and jewelry business.
The ideal candidate will ensure smooth product flow, optimize inventory turnover, maintain product availability, and support retail and wholesale business growth through efficient operational management.
Merchandising Management
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with sales targets and market trends.
- Plan assortment mix for diamonds, jewelry collections, bridal products, and luxury accessories.
- Coordinate with sourcing teams for procurement of diamonds, gemstones, and finished jewelry.
- Analyze product performance, stock movement, and customer demand trends.
- Ensure timely replenishment and allocation of inventory across stores and channels.
- Monitor pricing, margins, and profitability of product categories.
- Collaborate with design and production teams for new collection launches.
Supply Chain Operations
- Manage end-to-end supply chain activities including procurement, warehousing, logistics, and distribution.
- Ensure smooth coordination between suppliers, manufacturing units, warehouses, and retail outlets.
- Develop inventory control systems to minimize stock aging and dead inventory.
- Monitor stock accuracy, inventory valuation, and supply chain KPIs.
- Optimize transportation and delivery processes for timely fulfillment.
- Implement best practices for inventory forecasting and demand planning.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, quality standards, and security procedures.
Vendor & Procurement Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with diamond suppliers, jewelry manufacturers, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and procurement terms with vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure quality compliance.
- Coordinate import/export documentation and shipment tracking where applicable.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare MIS reports related to inventory, stock movement, sales trends, procurement, and supply chain performance.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Retail Operations, Finance, and Production departments.
- Support management in strategic planning and operational improvements.
- Identify process gaps and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Merchandising, Logistics, or related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications in Supply Chain/Operations will be an advantage.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience in merchandising and supply chain management.
- Mandatory experience in
- Diamond, Jewelry, Luxury Retail, or Precious Stones industry
