Role overview

Clinical support

• Assist with diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric dental procedures.
• Prepare and dismiss patients; clean instruments at point of use and disinfect equipment.
• Provide dentist-prescribed postoperative instructions and directed home-care guidance.
• Maintain supply orders and applicable records.
• Retract cheeks and tissues and irrigate and aspirate oral fluids during treatment.
• Anticipate dentist needs, practice four-handed dentistry, or assist a dental surgical operating team.
• Perform expanded-duty procedures under dentist supervision as required.

Records and emergencies

• Review patient medical histories, alert the dentist to significant problems, update histories, and flag charts.
• Chart oral-condition findings reported by the doctor and record treatment in permanent charts.
• Maintain first aid and CPR skills and assist with medical emergencies until additional help is available.
• Perform other related duties as assigned according to business needs.

Requirements

• Diploma.
• Two to five years of clinical experience.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Computer skills using Office and health information systems.
• Maintain and periodically review first aid and CPR skills.

Schedule

• Six working days and one day off.
• Eight net working hours according to the shift schedule approved by the head of department.

Work environment

• The work environment is indoors 100% and outdoors 0%.
