Love working with kids? Bring your caring heart, positive energy, and best high-five—we’d love to meet you!
At Pediatric Dental OKC, we help children discover that going to the dentist can be a positive—and even fun—experience! We’re looking for a compassionate Dental Assistant who enjoys helping little patients feel brave, supporting families, and being part of a team that makes a difference.
From a reassuring smile before treatment to celebrating a successful first visit, the little things you do can leave a lasting impression.
What You'll Do
You’ll work alongside our dentists and team to deliver excellent pediatric dental care while helping each child feel comfortable, encouraged, and supported. You’ll also keep treatment rooms prepared and organized so our team can give patients the attention they deserve.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcome children and families, prepare patients for treatment, and help ease any nervous feelings.
Assist the dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures.
Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for patient care.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain infection control standards.
Take and process dental X-rays as directed, following required safety protocols and certification requirements.
Accurately document medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
Teach children and caregivers healthy oral hygiene habits and provide post-operative instructions as directed.
Assist during medical or dental emergencies when needed.
Take preliminary impressions and assist with temporary restorations when permitted by state regulations.
Maintain dental equipment and help manage supplies, ordering, and inventory.
Follow HIPAA, OSHA, practice safety standards, and required training.
Support daily practice needs and uphold the core values and team culture outlined in the SDB Handbook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of dental assisting experience preferred.
- Applicable dental assisting credentials and certifications required for assigned duties.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to support your teammates.
- What Makes You Successful:
- A heart for children: You meet little patients with patience, kindness, and encouragement.
- A team-first attitude: You’re happy to lend a hand and celebrate shared successes.
- A calm, reassuring presence: You help children and caregivers feel comfortable asking questions.
- Pride in your work: You stay organized, follow safety standards, and pay attention to the details.
- A little playful energy: You know when a smile, a silly moment, or a high-five can help a child feel more confident!
- Why Join Us?
- Your work matters here. You’ll help children build healthy habits and positive memories of dental care while contributing to a practice focused on fun, safety, and personalized care.
- As part of Specialty Dental Brands, we value the people who make those experiences possible—including you!
