Role overview

Provide independent, evidence-based assurance across major construction and infrastructure projects within the Group.

Assess project schedule and cost expectations, identify emerging risks, challenge reported status, and lead recovery efforts for projects requiring intervention.

Work with Project Directors, entity COOs, contractors, and senior stakeholders to drive accountability, strengthen governance, and support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently assess project progress, schedules, and cost-to-complete forecasts against source evidence.
  • Conduct stage-gate and monthly reviews, validating project baselines, critical paths, float movement, and resource loading.
  • Lead recovery plans for projects experiencing significant delays or cost overruns, and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Identify root causes of project delays and overruns, escalating commercial implications and delivery risks early.
  • Hold Project Directors, entity COOs, and contractors accountable for agreed actions, deadlines, and commitments.
  • Represent the EPMO in delivery review forums and maintain consistent, evidence-based reporting across the Group.
  • Analyse project documentation, capture lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement in delivery assurance practices.

Qualifications and experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in major project delivery, preferably within a main contractor, PMO, or client-side delivery assurance function.
  • Strong construction or major infrastructure project experience, with a proven track record of recovering projects in difficulty.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 or an equivalent project scheduling tool, including the ability to assess critical path slippage, float erosion, and schedule risks.
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery lifecycles, contractual notices, contractor and subcontractor management, and causes of project delays.
  • Experience engaging and holding senior stakeholders, including CEOs, COOs, and Project Directors, accountable for delivery commitments.
  • Gulf or wider MENA experience, particularly within complex group and subsidiary structures, is strongly preferred.

Essential AI fluency

  • Candidates must demonstrate practical, hands-on use of AI as a core working tool, with examples of identifying delay risks, accelerating root cause analysis, or supporting project recovery planning.
  • Experience working with technical teams to develop AI-assisted project and schedule analysis tools is highly valued.
