Bridges business stakeholders, source systems, and data engineering teams to modernize reporting environments and integrate data across Capital Markets architecture.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into detailed data and reporting specifications; analyze source systems and datasets and map them to reporting needs.
- Collaborate with Databricks engineers on integration, transformation, and modeling, and validate assumptions through direct data analysis.
- Navigate Databricks catalogs, schemas, and tables; define reporting dimensions, measures, and relationships using relevant modeling practices.
- Clarify requirements, provide data mappings and definitions, build prototypes, and investigate discrepancies and data quality issues.
- Help define revenue, client profitability, and risk measures; collaborate with Power BI and Databricks teams on reporting architecture.
Desired qualifications
- Extensive experience as a technically oriented Business Systems Analyst or Data Business Analyst, with practical Databricks experience.
- Strong SQL, data analysis, data modeling, data structures, and source-system mapping skills.
- Knowledge of star schema, dimensional modeling, and Medallion architecture; able to work directly with data.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities and experience translating business needs into technical data specifications.
- Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, or Capital Markets expertise, including revenue, client profitability, risk, and regulated financial reporting.
Additional assets
- Databricks migration or integration support experience is a plus.
- Azure Databricks, Azure Data Services, Unity Catalog, Capital Markets reporting applications, Power BI or similar tools, Python, prototyping, development collaboration, and complex financial dataset experience are advantageous.
