Responsibilities
- Conduct current state assessments of existing database environments to identify security gaps and improvement opportunities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms
- Support the implementation of database encryption solutions, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) or equivalent technologies
- Configure and manage encryption for data at rest and data in transit
- Ensure database security configurations comply with National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) cybersecurity controls and organizational security policies
- Monitor database performance, availability, and security to ensure optimal operation
- Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and version management
- Manage database backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
- Implement database performance tuning and optimization
- Manage database users, roles, privileges, and access permissions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, standard operating procedures, and security documentation
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and project teams to implement secure database solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of hands on experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms
- Hands on experience implementing database encryption technologies such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) or equivalent
- Experience configuring SSL/TLS encryption for secure database communications
- Strong understanding of database security principles, access control, and encryption best practices
- Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high availability architectures
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and performance tuning skills
- Strong documentation and communication skills

- Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, PostgreSQL Certification, or CISSP (Preferred).
