The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time until 19th December with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

Review and classify spotted hyena and leopard camera-trap images using TrapTagger

Identify individual animals using distinctive spot patterns and other visual characteristics

Assign existing individual IDs and create new IDs where appropriate

Compare images across different locations and dates to ensure consistent identification

Flag uncertain identifications for further review rather than making speculative matches

Follow established identification protocols to minimise duplicate or incorrect records

Maintain accurate and consistent datasets for subsequent research analysis

Complete image-processing activities efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy

Selection Criteria:

Background in Biology, Ecology, Zoology or a related discipline

Experience working with image-based datasets, including reviewing, organising or classifying large volumes of images

Ability to follow detailed research protocols consistently and accurately

Ability to work independently and use initiative appropriately

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Confidence using online systems and ability to learn new research applications such as TrapTagger
