Role overview

Operations and maintenance

• Own data center changes, events, incidents, and problems through resolution, including post-mortems, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
• Plan and oversee maintenance and repairs of site-critical facility infrastructure.
• Manage assets and inventory.
• Maintain method statements, operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and technical documentation.
• Develop knowledge of data center system design intent, operating alternatives, and contingency plans.
• Support equipment installation, decommissioning, replacement, and other hands-on facility work when required.

Engineering, compliance, and reporting

• Manage engineering cost control, code and regulatory compliance, personnel management, and staff training and development.
• Address health and safety, statutory, environmental, and energy-management requirements.
• Produce engineering reports and ensure contracted deliverables, SLAs, and KPIs are met.
• Communicate operating practices, technical information, objectives, and expectations to Amazon personnel and critical-facility vendors.
• Conduct technical compliance audits, close corrective actions, and perform annual reviews against company standards and applicable regulations.
• Manage energy and environmental programs and keep abreast of data center industry innovation.

Incident and emergency response

• Review incident reports, summarize trends, and recommend actions to management.
• Manage information flow and provide regular updates during incidents.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve emergencies; some incidents may require physical dispatch to site.
• Maintain safe and secure 24x7 shift operations without availability impact.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events.

Schedule

• The role requires 24x7 on-call coverage, scheduled weekend work, and rotational shifts.

Work location

• The role supports owned and operated data centers in India; the specific location is to be discussed and may be in several India locations.

Requirements

• Provide hands-on support for data center facility systems, including equipment installation, decommissioning, and replacement of faulty equipment when required.
• Support 24x7 on-call coverage, scheduled weekend work, and rotational shifts.
• Be available for physical dispatch to site during some emergency incidents.
• Maintain safe and secure operations without impacting service availability.
