Role overview

Specialist role in GIAA's Data Analytics team, using data analysis to support internal audit and counter-fraud and investigation activities across government.

Develop scripts and applications, report findings through visualisations, and use AI models and LLMs in analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Build analytics scripts and applications with R, Python, and web frameworks.
  • Present analytical reports and visualisations to colleagues and customers.
  • Document and maintain code using DevOps and Git; improve code, pipelines, applications, and quality assurance.
  • Lead analytics upskilling and promote analytics across the agency.
  • Research new methods with government and private-sector data teams and apply them to audit and counter-fraud work.
  • Develop tools that help colleagues and customers use AI safely and effectively.

Person specification

  • Experience interpreting customer needs and conducting advanced analytics using R or Python.
  • Explain complex analytical results clearly to non-specialists.
  • Connect business problems with analytical solutions and research new approaches.
  • Organise and lead multiple concurrent projects and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in two or more listed areas: Quarto, web applications, AI products, Azure environments, or business-critical models.

Location and work arrangements

  • Contractual work location must be one of the advertised locations and within reasonable daily commuting distance.
  • Employees are expected to maintain a regular presence at their designated work location and travel to other GIAA locations or client sites for critical meetings and field assignments.
  • Interviews will be held on Teams.
