Job Overview
Marhaba Auctions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Customs Specialist & Logistics Operations Officer to manage customs clearance activities and logistics operations across the UAE.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of UAE customs regulations, freight forwarding operations, and shipment coordination while ensuring full compliance with government and trade requirements.
Customs Clearance & Documentation
- Prepare, review, and submit import, export, and re-export customs declarations in compliance with UAE Federal Customs Authority (FCA) regulations.
- Process and manage shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Airway Bills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Customs Declarations.
- Classify goods using the correct HS tariff codes for accurate duty and tax calculations.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, ports, and free zones for smooth cargo clearance.
- Handle duty exemptions, refunds, and customs-related applications.
- Maintain accurate records of declarations, permits, and customs documentation.
Logistics & Operations Coordination
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transport providers, and warehouse teams.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments and resolve customs or logistics delays.
- Manage door-to-door logistics operations across the UAE.
- Ensure efficient cargo movement and cost-effective routing solutions.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with UAE customs laws, trade regulations, and free zone requirements.
- Monitor restricted goods regulations and compliance standards.
- Support customs inspections, audits, and operational reviews.
- Stay updated with UAE customs and trade regulation changes.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the main point of contact for customs and logistics-related inquiries.
- Provide shipment updates, clearance timelines, and duty estimates to clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, shipping agents, and government authorities.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Prepare operational reports and clearance performance updates.
- Recommend process improvements to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Maintain SOPs and support junior staff training when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, or Logistics are preferred.
- CCS / CLS certification is an advantage.
Experience
- 5–7 years of UAE experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience with UAE customs systems such as Mirsal 2, Dubai Trade, and Abu Dhabi Customs platforms.
- Experience handling sea, air, and road shipments.
- Previous experience in shipping or freight forwarding companies preferred.
& Competencies
- Strong knowledge of UAE Customs Law and GCC Customs regulations.
- Proficiency in customs documentation and HS code classification.
- Experience with logistics management software and Microsoft Office.
- Good understanding of Incoterms 2020.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
- Willingness to travel within the UAE when required.
