Credit Assessment Analyst

The Credit Assessment Analyst plays a key role in managing and mitigating credit risk across Momentum's commercial and industrial customer portfolio. The role is responsible for coordinating credit assessments within approved risk limits, monitoring the ongoing risk exposure of existing customers, and providing specialist advice and support on credit assessment processes and systems to customer-facing teams. The position also supports the Credit Risk Lead and Senior Credit Risk Analyst by assisting with day-to-day operations and contributing to the effective functioning of the Credit Risk team.

Assess customer credit risk and complete credit reviews.

Manage credit exposure across the customer portfolio.

Prepare credit recommendations and risk reports.

Monitor high-risk and secured customer accounts.

Support cash flow outcomes and minimise bad debt risk.

Contribute to credit system improvements and testing.

Provide reporting, analysis and support to stakeholders and the Credit Risk team.

• Commercial credit management experience • Experience preparing portfolio and management reports • Strong relationship management skills • Ability to interpret credit assessments, trade data and financial reports • Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills • Sound risk analysis, decision-making and conflict resolution skills • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Experian credit reports • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and self-management skills • Strategic thinking with a goal-oriented approach
