Creative Technologist, AV Experience Required

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Provide creative AV and experiential technology design leadership and build relationships with the experiential design community and partners.
• Translate customer requirements into presentations and functional system designs; communicate design intent through sketches, drawings, renderings, diagrams, storyboards, or narratives.
• Develop or contribute to engineering and architectural drawings and calculations, coordinate with disciplines and trades, and review pre-construction documentation.
• Support technical pricing, estimate hours, identify logistical challenges, and prepare system descriptions, block diagrams, and equipment lists for proposals.
• Support project installation teams, liaise with customers on engineering inquiries, and provide post-sales project consultation.
• Evaluate vendor products and new creative technologies; review and validate Design Engineers' work.
• Travel to job sites and support meetings outside local time zones up to 20 times per year; undertake other assigned duties.

Required qualifications

• At least 10 years of AV experience and a track record designing and implementing experiential AV solutions.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and professional, timely interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues.
• Creative and independent problem-solving, deadline management, and ability to diagnose complex system issues.
• Advanced computer skills for AV equipment design configuration and operation, and ability to support user acceptance testing.
• Previous work with a consultancy, creative agency, production house, or creative fabricator.
• National and international travel ability; valid driver's license and motor vehicle record meeting company standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; able to attend daily activities in Gulf Standard Time and weekly office meetings in Dubai.

Preferred qualifications

• Formal education in Electronics or a related field is preferred; a four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience.
• AVIXA CTS-D certification and experience with Google SketchUp Pro or comparable design software are nice-to-haves.
