Independently manages assigned projects and coordinates with project controls colleagues, planners, and project managers.
Cost control and reporting
- Set up projects and monitor, control, and report performance according to company procedures and project control practices.
- Control project cost accounts and coordinate their opening and closing according to project schedule and status.
- Check that progress measurement is in place and advise on obstacles to project objectives and cost optimization.
- Prepare timely cost reports, report cost deviations and time budget variances, and recommend remedial actions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, coordinate change management, and maintain integrated cost-schedule controls.
- Prepare earned value and progress reports; explain variances among actual costs, plans, earned values, and forecasts to the Project Manager.
- Update estimate-to-complete with planners and provide client reporting input as required by contracts.
- Collaborate with the Financial Shared Services Centre on client invoices; track purchase order commitments and analyze monthly accruals.
- Support periodic cost risk analysis, present to team members as needed, and complete ad hoc assignments.
Qualifications and experience
- University bachelor’s degree.
- 5–7 years of relevant cost control experience.
- Solid understanding of client and vendor accruals and strong understanding of project lifecycle processes.
- Operational knowledge of ECOSYS.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
- Ability to manage multiple requests.
