Cost Controller

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control food, beverage, and operating costs across all coffee shop branches.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile stock variances.
• Review purchases, receiving reports, transfers, and stock movements for accuracy.
• Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Calculate recipe costing, menu pricing, and monitor product profitability.
• Ensure proper stock control procedures are implemented and followed.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, waste, spoilage, and shrinkage.
• Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Store Managers to improve cost efficiency.
• Monitor supplier pricing and recommend cost-effective purchasing strategies.
• Prepare monthly cost control reports, variance analyses, and management reports.
• Conduct periodic audits of inventory, production, and cash handling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal control procedures.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to operational costs.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of **2–3 years of experience** as a Cost Controller, preferably in coffee shops, cafés, restaurants, or the hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, recipe costing, food and beverage cost control, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory/POS systems.
• Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple branches or locations.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in multi-branch coffee shop or restaurant operations.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and POS platforms.
• Experience preparing food and beverage cost analyses and management reports.
