Lead development and performance of the cosmetics category through category strategy, assortment, pricing, promotions, suppliers, and commercial performance.
Pursue revenue, profitability, customer experience, and inventory objectives in line with company strategy.
Category management responsibilities
- Execute the category strategy and business plan; optimize product assortment based on performance, customer needs, and market trends.
- Monitor sales, profitability, pricing, and inventory; develop pricing and promotional strategies.
- Manage beauty brand and supplier relationships and support commercial negotiations.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitors to identify opportunities.
- Coordinate product launches, campaigns, and product availability across sales channels.
- Prepare performance reports and forecasts, recommend improvements, and lead and develop the category team.
Qualifications and skills
- Experience in category management, buying, merchandising, or retail; cosmetics, beauty, or personal care experience is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of category strategy, assortment, pricing, promotions, and retail performance metrics.
- Strong analytical, commercial, financial analysis, forecasting, and inventory management skills.
- Supplier relationship and negotiation experience, and cosmetics or beauty market knowledge, are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and presentation tools; ERP, retail planning, or business intelligence system experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, stakeholder management, collaboration, prioritization, and customer focus.
