Contracts Manager

Role description

Key responsibilities

• Review, develop, and enforce procedures for contract performance within contract terms and conditions.
• Support project teams in monitoring contracted services for effectiveness, statutory and project compliance, and desired outcomes.
• Develop contract management and administration procedures and manage contracts from inception to completion.
• Assist in developing and implementing commercial strategy.
• Draft contractual correspondence and maintain contract administration records.
• Administer and settle claims, resolve disputes, negotiate contract changes, and identify recurring claims with mitigation strategies.
• Manage systems for monitoring contracts and claims and resolving compliance issues.
• Maintain client relationships and provide contractual and commercial reports.
• Support contract close-out and confirm requirements are met before final payment to contractors.
• Track milestones and deliverables, maintain procedures, and advise on contractual matters.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a degree in quantity surveying.
• At least 15 years of related experience in building and infrastructure projects.

Desired qualifications

• Experience with supervision consultants and/or project management consultants.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts; mega-project experience is advantageous.
• Professional membership or working toward MRICS/RICS membership.
• UAE experience.
• Excellent writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
