Role overview
Experienced Contract Engineer managing contractual matters throughout project lifecycles, ensuring compliance, protecting company contractual rights, and supporting project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
Responsibilities
- Administer construction, fit-out, and JV contracts under contractual requirements and project procedures.
- Review and interpret contracts, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and project documentation.
- Manage variations, claims, EOT, notices, payment certificates, and final accounts.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor claims, variations, delays, and entitlements.
- Identify contractual risks and support claims prevention, dispute resolution, and negotiations.
- Prepare correspondence, notices, and supporting documentation; maintain contract, claims, variation, and correspondence registers.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, planning, cost control, procurement, and legal teams.
- Provide contractual and commercial support on building, architectural, fit-out, and JV projects.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- At least 6 years of relevant construction or project-contract experience.
- Extensive practical experience in FIDIC contracts and contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of claims management, variations, EOT, delay analysis, and dispute resolution.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, clients, and project management teams.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Strong contractual writing, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Primavera experience is an advantage.
- Experience on major infrastructure, building, or development projects is preferred.
