Consultant /Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant/Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to join our leading medical team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in gastrointestinal surgery, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. You will be responsible for diagnosing complex GI disorders and performing surgical interventions, contributing to improved patient outcomes and the advancement of clinical practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients presenting with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans combining surgical and non-surgical approaches
• Perform complex gastrointestinal surgical procedures utilizing both traditional and minimally invasive techniques
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care ensuring optimal recovery and follow-up
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient management
• Engage in clinical research to contribute to innovations in gastrointestinal surgery
• Provide education and counselling to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation adhering to medical regulations and standards

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Completed residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery
• Valid medical license to practice in the designated jurisdiction
• Minimum of 5 years of post-training experience in gastrointestinal surgery
• Proficient in advanced surgical techniques with emphasis on minimally invasive surgery
• Strong clinical decision-making and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Commitment to continuing medical education and research activities
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous
