The role combines technical skills, problem-solving, and hands-on experience building platforms for large-scale data access and distribution.
The consultant will work on a web-based data dissemination portal.
Portal development
- Design, develop, and maintain the portal user interface using React and modern front-end practices.
- Implement responsive, accessible, and performant UI components.
- Integrate the front end with backend APIs to support data flow and user interactions.
- Connect the user interface to the semantic layer with backend engineers for enriched data representation.
Architecture and collaboration
- Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and secure application architecture.
- Review and optimize code for performance and quality.
- Develop portal features for data filtering, visualization, and downloads.
- Collaborate with data engineers, UX designers, and product managers.
- Mentor junior developers and encourage knowledge sharing and coding best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding.
- Seven or more years of professional full-stack web development experience.
- Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience integrating front-end applications with backend APIs and semantic layers.
- Hands-on experience developing data dissemination web portals.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or other API paradigms.
- Backend technology experience with Node.js, Python, Java, Express.js/Fastify, and GraphQL.
- Experience with visualization libraries such as D3.js, Highcharts, or Plotly; familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
