Construction Manager in Dubai

About the opportunity

Responsibilities

• Lead construction activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, programme, budget, and quality standards.
• Oversee excavation, shoring, dewatering, foundations, structural works, and associated temporary works.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, consultants, specialist trades, and site teams.
• Review construction methods, sequencing, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and constraints, and help develop construction strategies and recovery plans.
• Conduct site inspections, manage defects and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with approved designs and UAE regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai/UAE building regulations, HSE requirements, and relevant construction standards.
• Coordinate logistics, labour, plant, materials, deliveries, access, and sequencing; monitor contractor performance.
• Resolve site constraints with consultants, engineers, architects, and designers; support site cost control and identify variations and risks.
• Attend progress, coordination, technical, and contractor meetings; report construction progress, risks, quality, safety, and programme.
• Act as a senior point of contact between the site and project leadership and support key construction decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional construction experience, with significant senior site or construction management experience.
• Experience managing complex construction projects from enabling works through structural and finishing stages.
• Hands-on experience with excavation, shoring, dewatering, foundations, piling, or other complex substructure works.
• Experience coordinating major contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong understanding of Dubai/UAE regulations, permitting requirements, HSE standards, and local construction practices.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage contractors and challenge decisions.
• Proficiency in construction or project software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Aconex, or similar.
• Fluent English is required for communication with international project and management teams.

Preferred experience

• Dubai/UAE project experience, ideally including delivery through a full construction cycle, is strongly preferred.
• Strong background in high-end hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use, commercial, or other high-complexity construction projects.
• Previous delivery experience with luxury hotels, resorts, ultra-luxury residential developments, or landmark commercial projects.
