Manage and coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities of district warehouses and stores.
Warehouse and logistics responsibilities
- Participate in developing and implementing organizational goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
- Direct and review work plans for assigned staff; select, train, motivate, and evaluate personnel.
- Implement safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions.
- Monitor warehouse and storeroom material usage and maintain accurate inventory-usage records.
- Design warehouse layouts to improve storage efficiency and develop delivery schedules and drop-shipment strategies.
- Coordinate warehousing and storeroom activities with outside agencies and organizations.
- Meet with staff to resolve problems and prepare and present staff reports and correspondence.
- Implement discipline and termination procedures and monitor developments in warehousing and storage programs.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in supply chain management, business, or industrial engineering; these are listed as alternatives.
- Seven to ten years of experience in the construction industry.
- Decision-making, written and verbal communication, system-performance assessment, complex problem solving, and logical reasoning skills are expected.
