Role overview

Own compliance advisory for Affirm Card and make independent, risk-based decisions across card marketing, onboarding, disputes, and remediation.

Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to build compliant card features.

What you'll do

  • Advise across card marketing, checkout, onboarding, Apple Pay and Google Pay wallets, disputes, and servicing.
  • Apply EFTA (Reg E), TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act, and related rules to novel regulatory questions.
  • Review and approve card marketing, disclosures, and UX for regulatory and consumer-protection compliance.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and durable remediation of card issues, including disputes, adverse action notices, and declines.
  • Support regulatory exams and bank partner audits with Compliance Testing, Legal, and Risk.
  • Maintain the compliance risk assessment and control inventory, identify coverage gaps, and develop card-specific training materials.
  • Advise on evolving card features and surface compliance risks early in product development.

What we look for

  • 8+ years in financial-services compliance advisory with a bachelor's degree; alternatively, 6+ years with a master's degree, 3+ years with a PhD, or equivalent.
  • Meaningful experience with card or payments compliance.
  • Deep working knowledge of EFTA (Reg E) and TILA (Reg Z)/CARD Act for card products; familiarity with TISA (Reg DD) and UDAAP.
  • Visa or Mastercard network-rules experience is a plus.
  • Independent risk-based judgment in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience partnering with Product and advising Product, Engineering, and Operations on card, lending, or payments programs.
  • Experience taking issues from root-cause analysis through sustainable remediation.
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills; able to present regulatory issues to senior leadership.

Pay

  • Canadian base pay range is $128,000–$188,000 per year.
  • Total compensation may include equity, monthly stipends, and benefits.

Workplace

  • Affirm describes the role as remote-first, with flexibility within the country of employment.

Benefits

  • Health coverage premiums are covered for employees and dependents.
  • Monthly stipends support technology, health, and wellness spending.
  • Flexible time off, holiday calendars, and an employee stock purchase plan are offered.
