Position summary

Kitchen duties

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, and storing food; wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables; and weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for doneness and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the work station and serve proper portions in appropriate receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check that appliances and food are at correct temperatures.

Safety, service, and physical duties

• Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; and complete safety training.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and communicate professionally.
• Build positive working relationships, support team goals, listen and respond to coworkers, and meet quality expectations.
• Work may involve extended standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified; no license or certification is listed.
