Stomping Grounds is seeking skilled candidates who can fulfill the role and responsibilities of a Commi I in our busy kitchen.

If you are able to join immediately we would love to hear from you.

As a Commi you are responsible to assist with the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the high standards of our outlet.

will include key responsibilities such as but will not be limited to:

Support the Sous Chef and CDP in the daily operations and work according to menu specifications and directions of your Head Chef.

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food.

Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.

Weigh, measure and mix ingredients.

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.

Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.

Set-up and break-down work stations.

Keep work areas at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules of the Cafe.

Assist with the control of food stock and food cost of the kitchen.

Prepare the mise-en-place and food production in various sections of the kitchen.

Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks

Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up-to-date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.

Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, hygiene, wastage and cost control.

Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives and equipment.

Check and ensure correct temperature of appliances and food.
