  • Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Distribution team as a Commercial Efficiency Manager - Trade & Partner Engagement to be based in Doha, Qatar.
  • As a Commercial Efficiency Manager - Trade & Partner Engagement, you will own and drive Qatar Airways' commercial engagement with the B2B trade and partner community, spanning travel agents, TMCs, OTAs, corporate accounts, NDC and distribution partners across all commercial segments including business travel, leisure, and distribution. You will also be responsible for developing and executing the trade engagement tactics that strengthens Qatar Airways' commercial relationships, increases partner loyalty, and ensures the airline's value proposition is consistently and compellingly communicated to the right audiences across all markets. You will work in structured collaboration with Qatar Airways' Commercial Marketing division to brief, coordinate, and direct marketing activity on behalf of the commercial function to ensure that all trade and partner engagement activity is commercially anchored, measurable, and directly contributing to Qatar Airways' Commercial Strategic Priorities and revenue performance.
  • Specific responsibilities for the role include:
  • Support in defining and owning the trade and partner engagement strategy covering all commercial segments and partner types including travel agents, TMCs, OTAs, corporate accounts, and distribution partners, ensuring the strategy is channel-agnostic, segment-inclusive, and aligned to the Commercial Strategic Priorities set by the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Develop a differentiated commercial engagement framework for each key partner segment, defining the value proposition, communication approach, incentive messaging, and engagement cadence appropriate to each audience, ensuring Qatar Airways is positioned as the preferred commercial partner across all trade channels.
  • Build and maintain the annual trade engagement calendar, planning partner communications, industry events, trade shows, roadshows, co-marketing activations, and commercial engagement initiatives across all segments and markets, ensuring all activity is tied to measurable commercial outcomes and aligned with the broader marketing calendar.
  • Champion data-driven trade engagement by establishing the performance tracking frameworks and reporting cadence required to measure the commercial return of all partner engagement activity, and using these insights to continuously improve the engagement mix and investment allocation.
  • Monitor competitor trade engagement approaches, partner sentiment, and industry event activity across key markets, translating findings into actionable recommendations for the VP Distribution & Commercial Efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of trade engagement programmes; including partner communications, roadshows, events, trade activations, and co-marketing initiatives — working closely Commercial Marketing for production and managing timelines, approvals, and distribution to ensure all activity is executed on time and to the required commercial standard.
  • Own trade-facing communications on behalf of the Distribution & Commercial Efficiency function; including but not limited to partner newsletters, product and policy updates, incentive scheme announcements, and event invitations by ensuring content is commercially accurate, clearly targeted, appropriately timed, and produced in coordination with Commercial Marketing.
  • Manage Qatar Airways' commercial presence at select key B2B industry events and trade shows by coordinating the function's participation, preparing commercial materials and briefing packs, managing partner engagement on the ground, and ensuring structured post-event follow-up that converts engagement into commercial outcomes.
  • Coordinate the deployment partner communications by working with the Manager Commercial Steering, Policies & Guidelines to ensure that messaging is accurate, consistently applied, and reaches the right partners through the right channels at the right time.
  • Track and report on trade engagement performance against agreed KPIs; including partner reach, engagement rates, event ROI, trade partner satisfaction, and speed to market by providing regular reporting to the VP Distribution & Commercial Efficiency with clear insights and recommended actions.

Qualification

  • About you
  • The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Aviation Management, Economics or related field with minimum 7 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in Airline commercial functions; Distribution, Sales, or Trade Marketing.
  • Experience in Travel industry such as TMCs, OTAs, GDS, corporate travel.
  • Previous experience in managing global or regional partner networks.
  • Proven track record in B2B partner engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial strategy development and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of New Distribution Capability and airline distribution ecosystems.
  • Strong commercial performance tracking and revenue impact analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale trade programs such as roadshows, events and activations.
  • Strong understanding of Airline industry trends and distribution innovations.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
