Client Accountant & Tax Specialist

The Role

1. Client Bookkeeping & Management

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date ledgers for a portfolio of client companies (mostly SMEs and holding structures).
• Handle bank reconciliations, expense categorization, and invoicing using accounting software Xero, QuickBooks, or Zoho.
• Ensure all records are audit-ready at any given time.

2. Tax Compliance (VAT & Corporate Tax)

• Prepare and file **VAT Returns (5%)** for clients, ensuring all input/output tax is calculated correctly to avoid fines.
• Assist in the preparation of **Corporate Tax** filings (9%), ensuring clients understand their liabilities and exemptions (e.g., Small Business Relief).
• Register new clients for TRN (Tax Registration Numbers) and Corporate Tax with the FTA.

3. Financial Reporting

• Generate monthly or quarterly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) for clients to review.
• Identify discrepancies or "red flags" in client accounts and resolve them proactively.
• Create financial reports on real estate properties and investments based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

4. Advisory Support

• Answer technical queries regarding what is a deductible expense versus what is not under UAE law.
• Coordinate with the Legal Operations team to ensure financial records match the company’s legal structure.

What We’re Looking For

• **Experience:** Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience **specifically in the UAE**. You must understand the local tax landscape.
• **Education:** Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. (ACCA/CPA/CMA part-qualified or qualified is a plus).
• **Technical Skills:**
• Mastery of **Excel** (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks).
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT Law and the new Corporate Tax Law.
• **Languages:**
• **English:** Must be fluent (Written & Spoken) as all government portals and reporting are in English.
• **Spanish:** A **huge bonus**. Being able to explain accounting concepts to our clients in their native language is a major competitive advantage.
• **Traits:** You are obsessed with accuracy. You do not cut corners. You understand that a small mistake in accounting can lead to heavy fines for the client.
