Role overview

Key accountabilities

• Develop and review civil and structural designs to TAQA-T standards and specifications.
• Design and assess foundations, structural supports, cable trenches, duct banks, control buildings, and related substation civil works.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with TAQA-T design requirements, technical standards, and submission procedures.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural, and MEP teams to integrate designs and resolve technical interfaces.
• Review documents and drawings for technical accuracy, quality, safety, and project compliance.
• Support technical submissions, respond to review comments, and incorporate revisions for design approvals.
• Work with project teams and stakeholders to resolve design issues and deliver engineering outputs on time.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Existing TAQA Transmission (TAQA-T) approval as a Civil Design Engineer is mandatory.
• Proven civil and structural design experience on HV/EHV transmission substation projects.
• Previous experience on Abu Dhabi transmission substation projects.
• Knowledge of substation civil works, including foundations, equipment supports, cable trenches, and control buildings.
• Familiarity with TAQA-T standards, technical specifications, and submission procedures.
• Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
• Experience coordinating with electrical, architectural, and MEP disciplines.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant structural design software.
