Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Chiller Technician (Air Cooled Chillers) role based in Dubai.

The Chiller Technician will perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive/corrective maintenance of air-cooled chillers and associated HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults, replacing or repairing defective components, and ensuring systems operate at optimal efficiency and within safety standards.

The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals, recording service reports, and coordinating with supervisors, engineers, and clients to schedule work and minimize downtime.

The technician will also monitor system performance, recommend improvements, support energy-saving initiatives, and comply with all company safety policies and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining air-cooled chillers, condensers, pumps, and related HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, control schematics, P&IDs, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with refrigeration cycles, compressors, refrigerants, leak detection, vacuuming, charging, and system performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and controls work, including sensors, contactors, relays, VFDs, and control panels used in chiller systems.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning, service documentation, and use of diagnostic tools (manifold gauges, multimeters, thermometers, etc.).
  • Understanding of safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe handling of refrigerants and electrical equipment.
  • Relevant technical diploma or certification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Previous experience as a Chiller Technician or HVAC Technician, preferably with air-cooled chillers in commercial, industrial, or district cooling environments.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and clients in a multicultural environment.
