Overview
The Head of Quality & Independent System Monitoring (ISM) ensures that the design organization s compliance with legislation, internal procedures, and DOH requirements is continuously monitored and evaluated.
This role is independent of design and airworthiness functions and reports directly to the Head of Design Organisation, providing unbiased oversight of compliance performance.
This position involves a holistic approach to independently ensure compliance, deploy audit plans, demonstrate compliance, and coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure the Design Organization Approval (DOA) is obtained and maintained at LODD.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and maintain the Independent System Monitoring framework in accordance with EASA Part 21
- Develop an audit plan and conduct audits, reviews, and performance assessments of all DOA processes, including design control, compliance verification, and airworthiness activities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and track the resolution of audit findings.
- Report findings, observations, and trends to senior management, recommending improvements to strengthen compliance and reduce risk.
- Maintain records of monitoring activities, findings, and follow-up actions.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance, Safety, Airworthiness, Program Management, and other stakeholders to coordinate monitoring activities and ensure transparent communication.
- Evaluate systems and processes related to Part21J and contribute to improvements that reinforce compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Define, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System supporting the Design Organisation.
- Establish and monitor quality and compliance requirements for suppliers, subcontractors, and partners contributing to design and certification activities.
- Ensure that the configuration management and document control processes support traceability and regulatory compliance.
