Role Purpose
The Chief Growth & Strategy Officer (CGSO) is a C‑suite leader accountable for defining the enterprise growth ambition and translating strategy into executable, value‑creating programs across business lines and markets.
Within a diversified real estate services environment—including Advisory, Valuation, Property & Asset Management, Facility Management, Community Management & Services, and Events —the CGSO drives market expansion, client growth, service innovation, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. The role ensures that managed services, occupier experience, and community‑led platforms are fully embedded into the firm’s growth strategy, operating model, and long‑term value creation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead the development and periodic refresh of the multi‑year enterprise strategy, including strategic choices, portfolio priorities, and the value‑creation thesis.
- Establish a clear and compelling strategic narrative; partner with business leaders to translate strategy into annual operating priorities, initiatives, and execution roadmaps.
- Drive enterprise performance management, including scorecard design for the group and business segments, with quarterly performance reviews and continuous improvement actions.
- Own the enterprise strategic cadence, including strategy reviews, operating rhythm, and board‑ready updates that clearly articulate insights, trade‑offs, risks, and recommendations.
2. Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
- Establish and lead a robust EPMO with a clear mandate, governance framework, and operating model aligned to enterprise strategy.
- Drive the definition, prioritisation, and execution of group‑wide strategic programmes delivering the five‑year strategy and annual priorities.
- Champion change management across programmes and embed a disciplined project management culture across the organisation.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent reporting to the CEO and business owners, with effective escalation where required.
3. Group Customer Experience
- Drive consumer and client insights through structured research and analysis of current and future customer segments to identify growth opportunities.
- Define enterprise frameworks and initiatives that embed agility, empowerment, and accountability to improve customer satisfaction and advocacy.
- Ensure a seamless and consistent end‑to‑end customer experience across the group through mystery shopping, data analytics, and other experience‑tracking mechanisms.
4. Growth Acceleration
- Design and execute an integrated growth strategy encompassing key account expansion, retention, cross‑selling, and market penetration.
- Lead market entry and expansion initiatives (new geographies, segments, and sectors), supported by robust business cases, investment proposals, and measurable milestones.
- Establish a performance‑driven growth engine, including pipeline governance, win/loss analysis, pricing strategy inputs, and productivity improvements across business development and go‑to‑market activities.
5. Market Intelligence, Competitive Positioning & Thought Leadership
- Maintain a forward‑looking view of market dynamics, competitive landscape, client needs, and sector trends to identify growth opportunities and strategic risks.
- Define differentiated positioning by service line and sector; strengthen brand credibility through compelling value propositions, research‑led insights, and executive‑level thought leadership, as appropriate.
6. Risk Management
- Embed enterprise risk management considerations into growth strategy, market entry decisions, partnerships, and investment cases, ensuring balanced risk‑return outcomes aligned with the firm’s risk appetite.
- Identify, assess, and monitor strategic, commercial, regulatory, and execution risks associated with growth initiatives, M&A opportunities, and new service propositions, with clear mitigation plans and governance escalation where required.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure robust governance, controls, and disciplined decision‑making across strategic initiatives and transformation programmes.
- Champion responsible growth, balancing commercial performance with long‑term value creation, environmental stewardship, social impact, and reputational risk management.
- Provide board‑ready reporting and insights on strategic risks linked to growth priorities and investment decisions.
7. Leadership, Governance & Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Act as an enterprise integrator across business lines, breaking down silos and ensuring disciplined cross‑functional execution.
- Drive alignment between operations, delivery, finance, commercial, and enabling functions to enable sustainable, scalable growth.
- Establish clear accountability, governance structures, and outcome‑based measures for strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency and transparency across leadership.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in strategy, growth, business development, commercial leadership, consulting, investment, or corporate development; experience within real estate services strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional, enterprise‑level initiatives and translating strategy into execution, with exposure to executive leadership and board engagement.
- Proven track record of building and scaling growth engines, including market expansion, key account growth, partnerships, solution development, and pipeline governance.

- Strong governance orientation with sound risk awareness, compliance mindset, and disciplined decision‑making.
- Advanced risk management capability, including the ability to assess strategic trade‑offs, anticipate downside exposure, and apply mitigation frameworks in complex, multi‑business environments.
