Manages and prepares food within an assigned kitchen section.

Kitchen preparation and service
- Prepare, cook, and present food according to approved recipes, menus, and company standards.
- Complete preparation on time and maintain consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and plating.
- Prepare and store mise en place before service; monitor cooking temperatures and safe food holding.
- Assist with menu preparation, daily specials, and new dishes when required.
Stock, equipment, and team support
- Check ingredient quality and freshness, monitor stock, and inform the Head Chef of shortages.
- Assist with receiving, checking, storing, and labeling food products; follow FIFO procedures.
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently; follow portion control and standard recipes.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, equipment, and storage areas; report equipment defects.
- Support busy service, assist other sections, and train and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen helpers.
Food safety and standards
- Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP requirements, as well as applicable UAE food safety regulations.
- Maintain required food quality, presentation, and cost standards.
