Programme and role

The Change Development Programme provides a structured route into banking for graduates and career changers.

The two-year programme's next intake begins in September 2027.

As a Business Analyst, the successful candidate helps deliver change that creates demonstrable value for Nationwide customers and colleagues.

The role connects customer needs, business processes, data, systems, and strategic priorities across business and technology teams.

Business Analyst responsibilities

  • Assess opportunities, understand problems, identify root causes, and help prioritize requirements that deliver value.
  • Define initiative scope and deliverables and identify dependencies and potential wider impacts.
  • Work across the change lifecycle with technology, architecture, and delivery teams to shape practical solutions within Nationwide tools, guardrails, patterns, methods, and controls.
  • Maintain traceability from the original business need through delivery and check that requirements are accurate, complete, and aligned with intended outcomes.
  • Analyze complex information, challenge assumptions, and consider how changes affect other processes, systems, or services.

Development and change teams

Participants join teams supporting Nationwide's transformation and strategic priorities and work with experienced change professionals.

The programme includes induction, a Change Academy, role-specific training, digital learning, interactive workshops, and learning from leaders and industry experts.

The Change Academy builds core change and delivery skills before participants progress into a specialist Business Analysis pathway.

The programme offers hands-on experience supporting projects, analyzing business needs, and delivering improvements.
