CDL-A Western Regional Driver - Paid Training Job Type: Driving

Stay West and Build CDL-A Experience

This Western regional dry van position keeps most runs west of the Mississippi and normally limits trips to about three days. Qualified newer CDL-A drivers can begin with paid road training.

PAY & MILES

$1,200-$1,500 average weekly earnings after training

Approximately 1,800-2,200 miles per week

Linehaul pay scale

Performance bonus opportunity up to $0.06 per mile for qualified drivers

$15 stop pay for qualifying intermediate stops

HOME TIME

Home time is every two weeks. The operation is designed to keep drivers closer to the western home region, with an option to run farther when available.

PAID TRAINING

Training is approximately 3-5 weeks with 200-250 behind-the-wheel hours. California trainee pay is $850 per week. Orientation is no more than two days, with $300 paid upon hire.

DRY VAN OPERATION

Western regional freight

Day and night driving

Weekend work required

Some winter driving

Freight may involve load/unload assistance, pallet jack or tailgate work

EQUIPMENT

Mainly Freightliner tractors

Automatic and 10-speed manual transmissions

Average tractor age approximately 1.5 years

Permanently assigned truck - no slip seating

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 120 hours from an accredited truck driving school
  • CDL-A trainees with less than 6 months of recent driving experience are welcome
  • Solid employment history without major unemployment gaps
  • Acceptable MVR and driving record required
  • Must pass a DOT-compliant pre-employment drug test
  • Must meet all applicable driver qualification and hiring requirements
  • Must be available for day/night driving and weekend work when required
