Business Development Officer - SME - Sales

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Source new-to-business banking current accounts.
• Ensure the account is funded as per expectations defined in KPI.
• Generate fee income for the bank including foreign exchange, trade, bancassurance, and deposits.
• Prospect in targeted markets that require meeting standards in phone calls and face-to-face visits.
• Present and sell all business banking products and services to potential customers in an ethical, structured, and professional manner.
• Achieve monthly sales targets in the financial year.
• Maintain and develop relationships with customers to enhance cross-sell opportunities.
• Adhere to the Bank's KYC and AML policy.
• Ensure KYC guidelines are adhered to while onboarding business banking customers.
• Conduct micro marketing activities including participation in business banking events and other direct marketing activities.
• Handle objections with a view to increasing take-up rates.
• Record all sales activities in Daily Sales Reports and update CRM for leads and contacts.

Requirements

• Adhere to the Bank's KYC and AML policy and ensure KYC guidelines are followed when onboarding business banking customers.
• Meet standards for phone calls and face-to-face visits when prospecting in targeted markets.
• Achieve monthly sales targets in the financial year.
• Record all sales activities in Daily Sales Reports and update CRM for leads and contacts.
• Participate in team activities including morning huddles, training and coaching, and mandatory compliance and fraud trainings.
