Business Development Manager (Energy Business Unit)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop business development strategies and identify new markets, clients, and construction opportunities.
• Build relationships with clients, government authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders; lead regional development activities.
• Oversee contractor prequalifications, registrations, classifications, and coordination of technical, commercial, HSE, and quality inputs.
• Maintain project references and corporate documentation; oversee brochures, presentations, website content, and promotional materials.
• Coordinate participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, and industry events.
• Lead and develop the team; support engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
• Manage departmental expenditure, assess market-entry risks, ensure governance compliance, and improve processes and performance.

Qualifications and experience

• University degree in Engineering and/or an MBA; the qualifications section specifies a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 15–20 years of Oil & Gas and energy transition experience; the must-have section also requires at least 15 years in construction and 10 years of relevant management experience.
• Progressive Sales, Business Development, or Commercial leadership experience; hands-on project execution experience is identified as ideal.
• Proven large-scale energy project business development, commercial management, or tendering experience, including market expansion, client relationships, and contractor prequalification.
• Knowledge of energy technologies and markets, engineering and tender development, project development, bid management, and corporate governance.
• Experience in multinational corporate environments and team leadership.
• Fluent written and spoken English; willingness to travel across the Group’s operating countries.

Work location and travel
