Business Analyst

Role purpose

Analysis and change delivery

• Understand business and operations needs relating to business problems and potential change or transformation.
• Assess operating model options and impacts, document benefits, limitations and risks, and identify required processes and technology.
• Gather and document requirements, including through stakeholder workshops; lead business requirements, non-functional requirements and user-story documentation.
• Analyse current processes and client journeys, identify gaps and improvements, and define future-state processes and operating models.
• Work with technology partners on product and system roadmaps and incorporate them into the future-state operating model.
• Communicate recommendations to gain buy-in from sponsors and the IT community.
• Assess solutions against architecture principles, design standards, and business, privacy and security policies.
• Lead analytical tasks for business cases and support investment appraisals.
• Analyse and visualise data from reports and other sources to provide management insight when required.
• Support testing activities, including scripts, execution, defect triage, issue resolution and reporting.
• Support adoption through training needs analysis and preparation and delivery of training materials when required.
• Capture outstanding requirements, defects and issues at project handover in the appropriate change or operating-model backlog.

• Gather, analyse and interpret information to support business and technology change.
• Document requirements clearly for business stakeholders, IT teams and external partners.
• Manage role-related risks by following internal policies and procedures.
• Keep knowledge current in change management and business analysis methods, subject matter and technology solutions.
