Role overview

Contract staff-augmentation role supporting Microsoft through AGS; the worker is employed by AGS, not Microsoft.

The role serves as the front door for a high-volume infrastructure capacity request workflow.

The coordinator manages incoming requests and maintains an organized, documented queue so capacity leads can focus on complex prioritization and customer-facing work.

Capacity allocation, exception approvals, and policy decisions remain with full-time staff.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and prioritize daily capacity requests and verify IDs, SKUs, regions, core counts, and other submitted details.
  • Route validated cases to owners and flag urgent or incomplete requests.
  • Resolve routine cases using documented procedures and escalate cases outside defined parameters.
  • Maintain Excel budget trackers, case records, and reconciliation logs.
  • Follow up with account teams for missing information or clarification.
  • Track action items to closure with account teams and capacity owners.
  • Prepare the case queue for scrum meetings and record meeting notes and action items.
  • Report weekly on case volume, backlog aging, and escalations.
  • Identify recurring issues and process gaps and suggest procedural improvements.

Required qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience in operations coordination, service desk, case management, or another high-volume queue-based role.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience with ticketing or case-management systems such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalent.
  • At least two years of advanced Excel use, including lookups, pivot tables, and operational data reconciliation.
  • At least one year of exposure to Azure concepts such as compute resources, VM families, SKUs, and regional infrastructure.
  • Required capabilities include data validation, clear written follow-up and escalation communication, procedural adherence, escalation judgment, stakeholder coordination, and independent analytical work.

Preferred qualifications

  • Cloud operations, IT service management, or supply chain operations background is strongly preferred.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in business management, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification is a plus.

Work arrangement

  • The role is remote.

Duration and schedule

  • The contract duration is eight months.
  • The weekly schedule is 40 hours.

Pay

  • Pay range is $32.50–$36.50 per hour.
