Budget Analyst 3

Position overview

Schedule and telework

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Telework may be available after a six-month probationary period.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor annual budgets and prepare monthly or other periodic financial projections.
• Prepare federal financial reports using accounting and statistical reports and methods.
• Prepare financial impact analyses and fiscal notes for proposed and actual legislative actions.
• Forecast cost impacts, maintain comprehensive documentation, and manage assigned funding within applicable limits.
• Partner with program staff, support HHS leadership, and participate in agency or program budget meetings.

Minimum qualifications

• Applicants must meet at least one minimum qualification pathway.
• One listed pathway is an accredited four-year degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and three years of full-time professional-level budget analysis or fiscal management work.
