Role overview

Location and arrangement

• The role is in Dubai and is described as hybrid.

Bookkeeping duties

• Maintain separate books for the Ventures entity and portfolio companies, assigning each transaction to the correct business.
• Reconcile bank accounts, cards, online store sales, and payment gateways, including fees, refunds, chargebacks, and settlement differences.
• Manage invoices, follow up on missing documents and overdue balances, and prepare payment schedules for approval.
• Maintain inventory and product-cost records; reconcile approved supplier, creator, and platform payouts.
• Record intercompany transactions and approved cost allocations with supporting documents and matching balances.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash reports; keep reconciliations current.
• Organize tax-filing and audit records with finance colleagues and external advisers; flag errors, duplicate payments, and unexplained balances early.

Experience and qualifications

• Personally managed bookkeeping and month-end work for multiple businesses.
• E-commerce, inventory, or consumer-product experience is particularly relevant.
• Confident using Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or an equivalent accounting system, plus Excel or Google Sheets.
• Practical UAE VAT records experience and support for accountants through reporting and filing cycles are required.
• ADGM company experience is an advantage.

Communication and languages

• Fluent English is required.
• Arabic is a strong advantage but is not essential.
• Follow missing documents through to resolution, handle sensitive information discreetly, and explain issues clearly.
