Beach Lifeguard

**Job Description**

Beach & Water Safety

• Continuously monitor designated beach and waterfront areas to ensure guest safety.
• Observe sea conditions, tides, currents, weather changes, and other environmental hazards.
• Enforce beach safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Identify potential risks and take proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensure safety flags, warning signs, and restricted area markers are correctly displayed and maintained.

Emergency Response & Rescue

• Respond immediately to water and beach-related emergencies.
• Perform water rescues and lifesaving interventions when required.
• Administer first aid, CPR, AED, and oxygen therapy within the scope of certification.
• Coordinate with emergency services, medical personnel, and management during emergencies.
• Assist with emergency evacuations and severe weather procedures.

Guest Relations & Customer Service

• Provide guests with information regarding beach safety, sea conditions, and facility rules.
• Assist guests professionally and courteously while maintaining a visible presence on the beach.
• Address guest concerns and safety-related issues promptly.
• Physically attend to guest complaints or incidents on-site and take immediate action to resolve safety concerns.

Beach Operations Support

• Conduct regular patrols along the shoreline, swimming areas, and beach facilities.
• Monitor beach capacity and assist in crowd management during peak periods.
• Ensure walkways, access points, and swimming zones remain safe and free from hazards.
• Report any unsafe conditions, damaged infrastructure, or maintenance issues immediately.
• Assist in maintaining overall beach cleanliness and operational readiness.

Equipment & Asset Management

• Inspect rescue equipment, radios, first aid kits, spinal boards, rescue tubes, and AED units before each shift.
• Ensure all lifesaving equipment remains operational, accessible, and properly maintained.
• Report damaged, missing, or expired equipment immediately.
• Maintain lifeguard stations in a clean and organized condition.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete incident, accident, rescue, and first aid reports accurately and promptly.
• Maintain daily beach inspection and safety records.
• Report all guest incidents, hazards, near misses, and operational concerns to management.
• Participate in investigations relating to accidents and safety incidents.

Training & Compliance

• Participate in regular rescue drills, emergency exercises, and safety training.
• Maintain all required lifeguard, first aid, CPR, AED, and rescue certifications.
• Comply with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and local authority requirements.
• Promote a culture of safety and emergency preparedness across the beach operation.

& Requirements

• Valid Beach Lifeguard Certification from a recognized authority.
• Valid First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
• Strong open-water swimming and rescue skills.
• Previous experience in beach, waterfront, resort, or recreational environments preferred.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding rescue operations.
